For many NFL fans, each season of the biggest American football league worldwide is filled with memorable moments. Still, every few seasons a team comes around that simply outdoes the competition, emerging as the clear favorite in the race for the Super Bowl. Here are the longest undefeated streaks in NFL history.
Indianapolis Colts
From 2008 to 2009, the Indianapolis Colts won a massive 23 regular season games in a row in order to clinch the title for the most consecutive regular season wins. Unfortunately, this fine form did not translate to the playoffs, with the Colts slumping to a 17-23 loss to the then-San Diego Chargers in their wild-card playoff.
New England Patriots
Under the leadership of Bill Belichick, the Patriots secured 10 playoff wins in a row between 2002 and 2006 to secure the longest postseason winning streak in NFL history. During this period, the Patriots won five consecutive Super Bowls; a streak that may never be repeated.
Miami Dolphins
From 1971 until 1974, the Miami Dolphins were invincible in their home stadium. The Dolphins won a massive 27 home games in a row, the longest winning streak at home in history. Unsurprisingly, the Dolphins were highly successful during this era, winning two Super Bowls, three AFC championships, and four AFC East titles.
