Many view Chicago Bulls’ legend Michael Jordan as the greatest basketball player of all time. Whether you agree with this or not, there is no denying that Jordan achieved plenty of things in the NBA that will probably never be matched. Here are some of the most impressive.
Winning 6 NBA Finals MVP Awards
Jordan’s six NBA Finals MVP awards, given to the best player in the NBA Finals, are the most in history. The second on the list is LeBron James with four. While James is still active, he is also approaching the end of his career and it is hard to see him tying Jordan, let alone surpassing him.
Winning MVP and DOY Awards Alongside a Scoring Title in a Single Season
In the 1987-88 NBA season, Michael Jordan had the league-leading 35.0 points and 3.2 steals per game while adding 5.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists. At the end of the campaign, he was crowned NBA MVP and Defensive Player of the Year while also winning a scoring title. No one else before or after that managed to achieve all three in a single season.
Leading the League in Scoring 10 Times
Jordan played 15 seasons in the NBA and led the league in scoring in 10 of those seasons. The closest to that number is late Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain, who had seven scoring titles in his career. No one else in the history of the league has more than four.
