Human history is one full of wars and various conflicts. Throughout history, there have been wars and conflicts that lasted less than an hour, like the Anglo-Zanzibar war, and the ones that took place over several centuries. Anglo-French Wars

Duration: 706 Years and Five months (1109 – 1815)

The Anglo-French Wars were a series of conflicts between England (and later Britain) on one side and France on the other. The war started with a conflict between the Capetian Dynasty, rulers of France, and the House of Normandy, who served as monarchs of England, in 1109. It was characterized by periods of heightened military activity followed by periods of peace. The conflict ended in 1815 following the fall of Napoleon and the First French Empire.

Roman-Germanic Wars

Duration: 708 years (113 BC– 596)

The term Roman-Germanic Wars describes a continuous series of conflicts between Romans and various tribes and nations that belonged to Germanic peoples. It started in 113BC with the Cimbrian War, which was a result of several Germanic and Celtic tribes migrating from Jutland to territories controlled by Romans. The long-term conflict is considered one of the reasons for the fall of the Western Roman Empire in the fifth century.

Reconquista

Duration: 781 Years and One Month (711– 1492)

Reconquista is used to describe wars that lasted for almost eight centuries, during which Christian kingdoms fought Muslim Moors in order to recoup the Iberian Peninsula. The conflict started with the Umayyad conquest of Hispania in 711 and went on to include various conflicts and rebellion attempts in the following centuries. Reconquista ended when Catholic Monarchs, Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile, conquered Granada as the last Moor stands in 1492.
