One of the most talked about prehistoric creatures that have been long gone, dinosaurs have often been at the center of speculation, with many people wondering what they looked like and how they lived. Covered in Feathers
While many of us think of dinosaurs as being slimy reptilian creatures, more recent evidence suggests that some dinosaurs actually had chubby stomachs and were covered in feathers. One prime example is the Deinocheirus.
Dinosaurs Existed for Millions of Years
Dinosaurs first appeared during the Triassic period, around 243 million years ago. This, together with the subsequent Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods, made up the Mesozoic era, throughout which dinosaurs roamed the earth. This means that dinosaurs roughly existed from 243 million years ago to 66 million years ago. Not bad!
Just Like a House Cat
Although dinosaurs may now be known as these enormous beasts that tower over most other lifeforms, this wasn’t always the case. They actually started out as small reptiles that were about the size of house cats. They only evolved over the period of about two million years.
